On 30 May 2016 PFLNG Satu, completed its 2,120 nautical mile journey from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) shipyard in Okpo, South Korea and reached its location, the Kanowit gas field 180 km offshore of Bintulu, Sarawak.

PFLNG Satu was permanently moored at location and has achieved its first gas milestone on 14 November 2016 from the KAKG-A central processing platform. The first gas milestone signified the commencement of commissioning and start up for the floating LNG facility that will soon progress towards commercial operations and first cargo.
