On 29 April 2018, FSO Benchamas 2 achieved its first oil production in Benchamas Field located at Block B8/32 approximately 200 km offshore the Gulf of Thailand. The Benchamas Field is operated by Chevron Offshore (Thailand) Ltd (COTL). FSO Benchamas 2 achieved its first oil production target on schedule and marks another major milestone for FVSB’s foray into Thailand’s offshore oil and gas sector.
The FSO was converted from an Aframax tanker with a storage capacity of 650,000 barrels and is designed to remain in continuous service at the field for 12 years without the need of dry-docking.
FVSB’s scope of work covers pre-operations (Operations, Readiness and Assurance), offshore marine operations and maintenance, systems maintenance, classification and regulatory compliance, technical and non-technical support.
