OUR EXPERIENCES
We commenced operations on the FPSO Bunga Kertas in 2005 and we have since expanded our portfolio to the Operations & Maintenance of 11 facilities consisting of one FLNG, four FPSO’s, five FSO’s and one set of two Mobile Production Units (“MOPU”).
Among these facilities, PFLNG Satu stands out as the first floating LNG unit in the world while the FPSO Kikeh stands out as the first deepwater FPSO in South East Asia, with a production capacity of 120,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd).
PFLNG SATU
PETRONAS’s first floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facility, also known as PFLNG Satu, was developed for the Kanowit gas field off the coast of Sarawak in Malaysia. It is the world’s first operational FLNG facility.
PFLNG Satu was constructed in South Korea and the facility was towed to its first location, 180 km offshore of Bintulu in May 2016 and successfully achieved first gas on 14 November 2016.
After 3 successful years at the Kanowit gas field in Sarawak, with 19 LNG loading operations completed, on 12 March 2019 PFLNG Satu has been relocated to the Kebabangan Cluster field in Sabah and she is permanently moored at the new location.
FPSO KIKEH
FPSO Kikeh is located 120 km off the coast of Sabah, Malaysia. FPSO Kikeh is Malaysia’s and Asia’s first deepwater FPSO in 1,300 m of water. The unit is turret moored and is capable of producing 120,000 barrels per day (bpd) of oil via a tension leg truss spar and subsea production wells. It has water injection capabilities up to 260,000 bpd, is also via the truss spar and 12 subsea wells. Addition flexible risers and subsea wells are provided for gas injection.
The storage capacity of the FPSO is 2,000,00 barrels (bbls) of crude oil. The offloading of the produced and stored crude oil is via a floating hose to a shuttle tanker.
FPSO KIKEH
FPSO Kikeh is located 120km offshore, northwest of East Malaysia and the island of Borneo. FPSO Kikeh is a Malaysia’s and Asia’s first Deepwater FPSO in 1,300 meters of water. The unit is turret moored and is capable of producing 120,000 bpd of oil via a Tension Leg Truss Spar and subsea production wells. Water injection, up to 260,000 bpd, is also via the truss spar and 12 subsea wells. Addition flexible risers and subsea wells are provided for gas injection.
