FSO ANGSI AND MOAB

FSO Angsi was located approximately 130 km from the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia at block PM-305, South Angsi field. The field is operated by Repsol Oil & Gas Malaysia Limited and the facilities consist of a process platform and a bridge-linked FSO.

Conversion work took place between September 2004 to August 2005. The FSO was towed out and installed at the South Angsi field in early August 2005.

The FSO was spread moored at a water depth of 75 m. She had seven storage tanks with maximum capacity of 75,000 m3 and was equipped with a facility to tandem moor offtake tankers at her stern. Her designed loading rate was 30,000 barrels per day and with an offloading rate of 14,000 barrels per hour. The FSO was designed to accommodate tankers of between 60,000 and 150,000 summer deadweight tonnes (SDWT).

The Mobile Offshore Application Barge (MOAB) was a four-legged self-erecting steel construction barge facility and is bridge-linked to the FSO via a telescopic 56-75 m Personnel Transfer Bridge (PTB). The MOAB was a full production facility consisting of the wellhead (well bay) and processing facilities (hull) with water injection and gas facilities. Stabilised crude oil from the MOAB was exported via a low pressure oil delivery hoses to FSO. The MOAB is owned by Repsol Oil & Gas Malaysia Limited and has been in operation since August 2005.

FSO Angsi was demobilised in April 2020 after fifteen years at site. We are proud to have been the chosen Operations and Maintenance (O&M) operator for the FSO Angsi which includes pre-operations work at the conversion yard and O&M for the entire duration of service from 2005 followed by the demobilisation work for the FSO in 2020.
