FVSB, a subsidiary of MISC Berhad, has won a contract from Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) to provide marine operations and maintenance services for its first floating liquefied natural gas (PFLNG 1) facility.

The country’s national oil company Petronas’ PFLNG 1 facility, also known as PFLNG SATU, is being developed for the Kanowit gas field off the coast of Sarawak in Malaysia, where it will produce 1.2 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) annually.

The contract is for five years, with Petronas holding an option for a further two year extension.

The company’s work scope covers offshore marine operations and maintenance, turret and mooring systems maintenance, classification and regulatory compliance, technical and non-technical support and onshore supply base. FVSB has assigned 53 personnel for the project, with most of the work to be executed in Miri and Bintulu in Sarawak and supported by the firm’s headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.
