14th May 2016 marked a major milestone in the Petronas FLNG Satu project when the facility departed Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) shipyard in Okpo, South Korea under tow bound for Malaysia.

FVSB has been playing a crucial part in preparations for sail away which includes the provision of catering and associated services and operations of the utilities and hotel services prior to leaving South Korea for the expected 14 days journey to the Kanowit gas field some 180 km offshore Bintulu, Sarawak.

FVSB was also tasked with providing agency services for all personnel at Okpo and Bintulu and ensuring prompt and adequate supplies for the Royal Malaysian Navy escort vessel whilst berthed in South Korea.

With more than 150 personnel on the facility during the tow passage, it is crucial to ensure that all safety and lifesaving systems are kept fully functional at all times whilst also preparing the facility for the next phase of hook up and commissioning activities upon its arrival in Sarawak.

FVSB’s onshore teams continue to support the facility during the tow passage with our personnel located in PFLNG Satu onshore support office in Miri, Sarawak.

Stay tuned for further updates on this exciting and industry game changing project!
